Storefront and Neon Patio

Raised 3D letters glow over the facade, a neon torii arch marks the door, and a mural wraps the side wall.

The idea

Sober nightlife that still feels like nightlife.

Most kava bars are designed around the drink. This one is designed around the culture: drum and bass, hip hop, gaming and anime. The kava fits right in.

Sound first

A real club system, a visible DJ booth and resident selectors every night. The music is the product.

Anime as architecture

Original murals by Phoenix artists, neon kanji, a manga library and licensed screenings.

Respect the root

Noble kava served the Pacific way: in a shell, with a “bula” toast and staff who know their strains.

Zoned from loud to quiet.

About 2,200 sq ft plus a shaded patio. Pick a zone to fly the 3D model there.

Bass Pit + DJ booth

Club-grade sound, decks on a riser, an LED wall and room for about 40 on the floor.

Shell Bar

Twelve stools facing the booth, kava on tap, coconut shells and a neon katakana backbar.

Restrooms

Two all-gender, single-user restrooms with room to turn a wheelchair, right off the main floor.

Manga Den

A quiet back room with 16 seats, a manga library, tatami platforms and Tuesday anime screenings.

Nakamal Lounge

Low tables, floor cushions and booths, named for the traditional kava meeting house.

Arcade Alley

Free Love Digi game cabinets, including DROP DUEL and the DJ simulator, with a ledge for your shell.

Neon Patio

Shade sails, string lights and picnic tables for 30, best from October to May.
